The Kingdom Harvest Foundation was established to serve the public interest by contributing to a sustainable and animal-friendly agricultural sector. The foundation focuses on promoting research, knowledge development, and the application of innovative methods that contribute to animal health, food quality, and responsible treatment of nature and the environment.

Mission

The foundation’s mission is to set an example in the agricultural sector by demonstrating that sustainable, healthy, and animal-friendly business practices are not only possible but also contribute to higher-quality food products and broad social support for agriculture and nature conservation.

Background

In today’s society and agricultural sector, animal welfare, sustainability, and social acceptance are becoming increasingly important. Kingdom Harvest Foundation wants to contribute to this by:

  • Conducting research into and supporting animal-friendly techniques that promote animal welfare.
  • Initiatives to reduce environmental pressure and strengthen sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Stimulating innovative methods for circular agriculture and the responsible use of natural resources.
  • Sharing knowledge and experiences with farmers, policymakers, and society.

Activities of the foundation

Activities of the foundation

  • Supporting initiatives and collaborative projects that contribute to responsible agriculture and food production.
  • Organizing knowledge meetings, training courses, and public activities to promote awareness and knowledge sharing.
  • Publishing and disseminating research results, manuals, and best practices.
  • Stimulating innovation and sustainability through pilot projects and collaboration with knowledge institutions.

Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda 2029

Through its activities, the foundation contributes to the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 3 – Good health and well-being: by promoting animal welfare and a healthy living environment, which directly and indirectly contributes to human and animal health.
  • SDG 12 – Responsible consumption and production: by promoting sustainable, efficient, and transparent agriculture and food production.
  • SDG 13 – Climate action: through projects that contribute to reducing emissions and the use of circular methods.
  • SDG 15 – Life on land: through initiatives that support biodiversity

In addition, the foundation aligns with the Implementation Principles and Area-Specific Strategies (RPGs) of Agenda 2029, including:

  • Locally anchored aid and innovation: the foundation collaborates with farmers, knowledge institutions, and policymakers to develop sustainable solutions. Development.
  • Self-reliance and resilience: by sharing knowledge and best practices, so that communities can independently make more sustainable choices.
  • Sustainable development: the emphasis is on circular agriculture, emission reduction, and environmentally friendly business practices.

Fundraising

The foundation raises funds through:

  1. Donations and contributions from individuals and companies who wish to support the foundation’s work.
  2. Grants and funds focused on sustainability, animal welfare, innovation, and agricultural development.
  3. Collaborative projects with knowledge institutions, civil society organizations, and government bodies where (partial) financing is possible.
  4. Reimbursements for knowledge sharing and educational activities (e.g., workshops, training courses, or tours), provided this falls within the framework of ANBI recognition.

Management of the institution’s assets

The institution’s assets are managed by the treasurer, who is appointed by the board of directors and audited by the accountant. The foundation is a non-profit organization.

The institution’s assets are spent on:

  1. Supporting projects that contribute to the objective;
  2. Providing financial support for specific sub-projects;
  3. Acquiring knowledge and services.

 

Planning

Activities will begin immediately after the foundation’s establishment and will initially focus on practical research and knowledge exchange in the field of animal welfare (horn preservation, heat stress). Later, the projects will be expanded to include the sustainability of the entire agricultural chain.
 

Appointment of the board

The board members are primarily the founders of the institution. The institution has articles of association that govern the functioning of the institution and the board members. The articles of association are laid down in a notarial deed.
 

Remuneration policy

The directors of the foundation do not receive any remuneration. Expenses incurred may be reimbursed. Expenses incurred by the board and volunteers will be reimbursed to the extent that this is reasonable and can be justified by them. The foundation does not provide any financial compensation for volunteer hours.
